WHVCA Fun Hunts and
Conformation Fun Matches
Vizsla
Club of Metro Atlanta - Specialty “B”
Match With
classes for Wirehaired
Vizslas hosted by members of the Wirehaired Vizsla Club of
America Saturday
- August
22, 2009
In
conjunction with the Cherokee Rose Cluster and with permission from
AKC & the Lawrenceville Kennel Club.

Highlights
of the FIRST Wirehaired Vizsla Club of America Annual Meeting, held
April 25, 2009 at Spanish Oak Hunt Club, near Tyler,
Texas.
Some of us
met the night before at Granger Lake to let the dogs run and
swim.
 Saturday at
Spanish Oak Hunt Club, we had a Mock Natural Ability Versatile Hunt
Test, a CGC test (Canine Good Citizen), and then everyone
had a chance for one-on-one with a conformation judge for
evlauations and critiques.
 Then we
went into town for a "No-Host" Dinner at a world
famous BBQ restaurant, where we held our very first Annual
Meeting and gave away lots of great doorprizes
. It was a fun-filled, learning experience for dogs
and people alike. Many thanks to: Keith Barr for having us at
Spanish Oak Hunt Club and judging the mock hunt test, and to Kat
Farres (Oz Belgians) for conducting the CGC tests, teaching
folks about conformation, being our photographer and donating
fabulous
doorprizes!
Meet the FSS Breeds, including Wirehaired
Vizslas, at the Rose City Classic AKC All Breed Dog
Show Portland, Oregon, January
17-18 The Rose City Classic
in Portland, OR is one of the Top 5 biggest shows in the country.
Many people stopped at the Meet the FSS Breeds booth, next door to
the AKC booth at the show, to see all the
different FSS breeds. Eleven different FSS breeds were
represented there, from the Boerbel and the Chinook to the
Wirehaired Vizsla and the Xoloitzcuintli.
The
world map backdrop showed the countries of origin and pictures of
all the different breeds represented at the show. Representatives of
the various breeds were in the booth throughout the show weekend.
David Nackerud was there with his Wirehaired Vizsla, Konza Vadasz'
Flanders Poppy, NAVHDA NA I, "Flanders", representing our
breed. The FSS dogs were all introduced in the ring between
the Groups judging.

The First WHVCA Specialty Fun
Match was
held May 17, 2008 at the Georgia Nat'l.
Fairgrounds in Perry, GA. A total of eight WHVs entered,
from puppies to adults coming from Georgia, South Carolina,
North Carolina and Kansas! In fact, there were more dogs than
handlers, so two talented young Junior handlers were enlisted to
help show all the dogs. Their assistance is greatly
appreciated.

Congratulations to Deb Wall, owner
of Quodian's Betyar, Best in Match
winner.

Special thanks to Trish
James, of Trinity Bird Dogs, Seale, AL for judging our very first
match!

The First WHV Fun
Hunt
was held April 6, 2008, at the D
& D Quail Farm near Hubbard, TX.
Five Texans with their WHV (and a Pudelpointer) got together for
some quail and water fun. Not shown is Robert Humphrey or his dog,
Ciga, because Robert was the one taking
pictures.
